Carved from a thick slice of natural banded agate, cut from a Brazilian geode. 

The interior surface is polished, while the outer edge remains in its natural, unworked state. The agate shows banding in grey, brown, and translucent honey tones.

This pair of Amanta armchairs showcases the classic brown molded shell designed by Mario Bellini, a hallmark of late-1960s Italian design.
